The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám is a collection of quatrains attributed to the 11th-century Persian scholar, mathematician, and poet Omar Khayyám. Famously adapted by English writer Edward FitzGerald in 1859, the poem explores themes of mortality, the transience of time, and the pursuit of joy.
