The closest city is Marathon, about 12 miles away. Key West International Airport (EYW) is roughly 40 miles southwest, while Miami International Airport (MIA) lies about 120 miles to the northeast. The main route follows US-1 south from Miami through the Keys or north from Key West with the park entrance clearly marked. Travel time from Key West is usually around one hour, and from Miami approximately three hours, though traffic can change this.
Within the park, personal vehicles are the main mode of transport, as public transit options are minimal. Biking is possible on roads and trails inside the park. Rideshare services are available, but parking spaces can fill quickly on busy days.
